Alaska Passes HR23

AK WSF is proud of the strong bipartisan statement made by the Alaska legislature on Tuesday when they passed House Concurrent Resolution 23, which “Support(s) enhanced efforts to protect wildlife and domestic animals in the state from infectious diseases, foreign pathogens, and nonendemic parasites.”

While there’s still much work to be done, passing HR23 is a big step towards recognizing the current and potential threats of disease and pathogens to Alaska’s wildlife. We thank all who supported this precedence setting legislation, especially those supporters who sent emails in support of the legislation.
